Bathroom sink options for your home
When it comes to bathroom sinks, there are many great styles to choose from. Each style has its own set of benefits, so it is important to carefully decide what will fit your bathroom design. You should take into consideration the size of the bathroom, countertop material, drainage requirements, the overall look and feel of the bathroom, and how easily you want the bathroom to be cleaned. Able & Ready Construction would like to share options for a bathroom sink upgrade in your Prescott home.
Top-Mount
The top-mount sink is found in most homes. It is commonly referred to as the “drop-in” sink. The edges of this sink sit on top of the counter while the majority of the sink bowl sits below the counter. Because this sink covers the countertop cutout, you are not risking water damage.
Under-Mount
This sink is installed underneath the counter. This provides a seamless look and feel. It is also very easy to brush messes and spills into the sink for easy cleanup. The under-mount sinks can only be installed on a solid-surface such as granite or other stone, and they are generally more expensive than other sink types.
Wall-Mount
If you want to give your bathroom an open feel, and storage space is not a concern, the wall-mount sink may be a good option for you. As the name suggests, this style is mounted to the wall, and there are no cabinets underneath. It is important to note that all the plumbing must be inside the wall for this style.
Pedestal
If you want the minimalist look of a wall-mount, but the plumbing cannot be relocated behind the wall, the pedestal is the best option. Like the wall-mount, there are no cabinets under the sink, but the pedestal hides all of the plumbing instead of being in the wall.
Washplane
When it comes to minimalism, nothing beats the washplane sink. This sink is made of a single solid-surface material, and it slopes down into the drain. The biggest drawback to this is that there is very little space to place other items such as soap or your toothbrush.
Vessel
The bold design of the vessel sink makes it a centerpiece for your bathroom which may be ideal for a washroom. It is essentially a bowl on the bathroom countertop which means it can hold a lot of water. However, its size can be a hindrance when it comes to cleaning.
As you can see there are many styles of sink, and none is better than the other. Take plenty of time to consider what your bathroom needs.
